Duck Real Estate Listings
Spanning six miles of shoreline, the award winning town of Duck is a noted “Best U.S. Family Beach Destination.” All Outer Banks towns have distinctive personalities, but Duck remains unique by retaining its quaint “village” appeal. One of the first areas of Dare County to be settled, little development occurred until the 1970s, and the thoughtful planning shows in the understated architecture and appealing amenities. Most houses range in size from modest beach homes to nine bedroom luxury oceanfront estates. Although there are a few hundred year round residents, Duck is a thriving resort community and most properties are purchased as second homes or Outer Banks vacation rentals. A highlight is Duck’s Town Green and Amphitheater, located on 11 acres bordering the Currituck Sound, which provides public boat slips, kayak/canoe launch, public pier and a mile long soundside boardwalk that links an array of waterfront eateries and boutiques. The park hosts family friendly events including free movies, concerts, interactive theater, exercise programs and more! Other festivities include the annual Duck Jazz Festival, 4th of July Parade and the Crab Trap Lighting ceremony held at Christmas. A six mile multi-use pathway for pedestrian and cyclist use traverses the town making this one of the Outer Bank’s most pedestrian friendly communities.
